Western Visayas I: Iloilo to Guimaras

 Iloilo - Guimaras Island

Western Visayans is located in Central Philippines and lies between two large bodies of water, namely; the Sibuyan Sea and the Visayas Sea. The Region is composed of six provinces:Aklan,Antique,Capiz,Guimaras,Iloilo and Negros Occidental.

Beautiful white-sand islands, postcard-perfect corals, colorful marine life and even more colorful festivals make Western Visayans an incredibly fun place to enjoy.

My Western Visayans trip was definitely one of the best adventure trips I ever had.  I and my frieds was very excited to visit historical churces so right after we drove out the plane,we headed directly to Iloilo's famous churches nearby the place. We first went to Jaro Church and Molo Church. We were amaze by the church structure, ancient type infrasture and its stories. After having our meal we decided to ride a local (RORO) heading to Guimaras Island.

Our Guimaras trip was definitely unforgettable, The places are awesome!  beaches will mesmerize your soul, Flora and Fauna are very alluring, people are all accommodating, the sceneries are very instagramable and also because we had a lot of fun and adventures for the first time. I enjoyed firing, trekking, diving and more.

Below are our captured moments

  "The Jaro Church"

In the RORO Ferry boat to Guimaras Island

"At Guimaras Port"

At the Trappist Monatery

If you’re looking for some peaceful ambiance, then you could opt to stay here. It is very quiet and the place has this totally spiritual feel to it. Also do not forget to hit the Trappist Abbey gift shop for some very cool mango-infused pasalubong to bring home to your family and friends.

Guimaras Smallest Plaza

We took photo's at the once smallest plaza in the world! Guimaras once held the word record for this tiny plaza. I am not sure if they have been dethroned or what for now but the plaza is really cool.

For the first time, I learned how to shoot a gun!!

At 17th Century Old Guisi Light house

We were all tired and startving and  found this an amazing place to eat.
-The Griller's Restaurant! We were captivated by the aroma of chicken BBQ,Baby Back Ribs,Beef Mango Bulalo and mouth watering Pork Mango Sisig.

For us,  every beat of time is precious!  So,  headed right away to Valle Verde for our trip next adventure.

At Raymen Beach Resort at Alubihod, Nueva Valencia.

At the Turtle Island

The scenic view of the beach is also a beauty not worth missing when you’re here. If Zamboanga boasts of its Pink Sand beaches, Boracay of its white, then Guimaras surely won’t be behind with its yellow shoreline.

Raymen also offers an island hopping tour that includes Ave Maria Beach, Lawi Marine Turtle Rescue Center, Buho Ramirez Cave, Natago Beach, Sol y Luna and Baras Beach Resort/Cave advenstures.

I was able to taste the sweetest mangoes in the country!
